Primary forest Brunei

A whole nation protects its rainforest and thus the green lung of the earth

The German Peace Movement from Düsseldorf visits the rainforest of Brunei, which is considered the oldest intact primary forest in the world. Together with the rainforests in Brazil and Congo, the primary forest in Borneo is part of the world’s green lung. Since many years, this forest has been considered worthy of protection by the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and the highest levels of government. Thus the primary forest has been left in its original state. Brunei was the first country to set a collection stop. If a tree is felled in the area around the primary forest, the so-called secondary forest, the German peace movement was assured that four new trees would be planted for every tree felled. It is very remarkable that the government of Brunei, now in cooperation with the other two governments on Borneo, Indonesia and Malaysia, is taking such extraordinary measures to preserve and protect nature and thus at the same time for all mankind.

Brunei – pioneer for humanity

Over the entire area, huge trees tower up and provide the forest with original information. It was very clear to the peace travellers what a unique energy flows in this forest in the natural interaction of all plants and animals. The uniqueness of the fauna and flora provides habitat for many extraordinary species, some of which have not even been discovered yet. It is a sign of high awareness and foresight when nations recognize how essential especially the primary forest is for our world. Not all trees are the same. Every species has its own special task and especially the old trees carry a special energy quality and “wisdom” within themselves. Societies that recognize this are pioneers for humanity.
For it is not only the government that protects this primary forest in a special way. It has officially stipulated that a large part of the national territory must be preserved as rainforest and in some cases remain completely untouched. Also the inhabitants of Brunei respect this promise of the Sultan and the government not to cut down any trees of the forest.
While in other countries, due to difficult living conditions, people themselves are overexploiting nature in order to secure their livelihoods, the prosperity of Brunei’s population is so high that no one interferes with the ancient, intact nature. Thus a unique biodiversity and species diversity have been preserved.

Connection man – nature

German Peace Movement was able to feel the peace that every giant tree radiated in the rainforest of Brunei. Thanks to a 50 m high viewing platform, which can be climbed after more than 1,200 steps, the peace travellers can experience the height of the trees directly. It is an indescribable feeling for them to stand in the treetops of the primary forest. Above the crowns of the tree tops, the Peace Travellers could especially feel the freedom and peace of this area. It was a special concern of the people of this movement to strengthen the plants and trees with healing energy in order to impulse their reconnection to the original forest. The spiritual and mental power of the trees was charged in a special meditation and Mother Earth and all living beings were given the highest energy.

The German Peace Movement expresses its great gratitude to the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam and the people of Brunei for the appreciation, appreciation and preservation of the primary forest – an essential act of peace.
